You will complete a Certificate III Civil Construction over 36 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Sutherland Shire Council.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain, operate and construct the civil assets which include all road and stormwater infrastructure
• Be involved in physically demanding tasks including, but not limited to, working with ready-mix concrete and asphalt, excavation, surveying and concrete cutting
• Operation of plant and equipment
• Become accredited and undertake traffic management
• Participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments
• Assist qualified trades people in performing daily civil maintenance activities and construction within the Sutherland Shire LGA

• Demonstrated interest and passion in civil construction
• White card (or willingness to obtain)
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol screening
• Current Manual Drivers Licence (P1 or above)
