What you'll be doing…

You will complete a Certificate III Carpentry over 48 months through a combination of formal training and on-the-job experience with your Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform general carpentry duties and design consulation
  • Actively participate in daily prestart and safety checks
  • Use various carpentry hand and power tools and assist in materials handling
  • Assist in the planning of general construction and carpentry
  • Build shop fittings and interior design from start to finish
  • Assist qualified tradesmen in carrying out duties within the limits of apprentice skills, competence and ability

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Be committed to your formal and ‘on the job’ training
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Demonstrated interest and passion for the carpentry trade
  • Ability to carry out manual handling duties and outdoor work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and principles of continuous improvement
  • WHS White Card or willingness to obtain
  • Criminal Record Check and Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain
